Hornady Varmint Express .17 Hornady Mach 2 (.17 HM2) 17gr V-Max 50/Box offers varmint hunters high speed rimfire cartridges made for delivering tack-driving accuracy and explosive expansion on impact and is made for hunting varmint sized game (less than 50 lbs) including prairie dogs, coyotes, foxes and bobcats. The V-Max polymer tip is a hollow cavity resting between the tip’s shaft and the body of the bullet. On impact, the hard shaft builds up speed and energy before driving into the core, causing the entire package to rapidly expand to the point of violent fragmentation. Even at low terminal velocities, this ammunition consistently achieves rapid fragmentation at all practical varmint hunting velocities. Every Varmint Express rimfire cartridge is hand inspected before leaving Hornady’s factory, ensuring there are no cosmetic flaws and imperfections. This ammunition is new production, and non-corrosive.
